Japan beats China for third win
BEIJING (Kyodo) Orix Buffaloes infielder Ryosuke Shibata hit a game-tying triple and scored the go-ahead run on an error in the fifth inning as Japan beat China 7-1 in a four-nation tournament on Monday. Yokohama BayStars catcher Toshio Saito singled home a run in the eighth to help Japan extend the lead and finish the round-robin preliminary round of the rehearsal event for next year's Beijing Olympics with three consecutive wins.
